I find that while I don't really need it, I have started to actually use it...mainly because I can :)

The reversed controls when in neutral is highly non-ideal, but my brain has compensated and I now automatically apply reverse control when letting go of the side thrust button or the paddles.


Notice the reverse controls while in neutral. The good part though is that it turns 180 degrees in zero radius while in neutral without the need to engage spin mode.
