Engine missing

Id pressure test the water jackets/gaskets of the exhaust and double check water routing-sounds like exhaust wayer inversion

Pressure test exhaust and double check water routing/ from your description could be exhaust inversion if you have an internal exhaust leak or incorrect routing

@ Gozills Would that show up as water in the oil or oil in the air box? I do not think the engine overheats.

Did you put it on the hose and see if it is still missing?

depends on the size of the leak-it could leak enough to misfire but not obviously show in the oil-the best comparison would be a supercharged engine with a leaking intercooler. Though not a direct comparison since the intercooler leaks into the intake. An internal leak in a water jacketed exhaust can cause similar misfire issues.

I dont think I’ve ever noticed it missing on the hose, but no I haven’t tried it yet.
I won’t be able to mess with it again until Sunday day or Monday unfortunately.

testing on the hose has limited value since its not under load

True. Especially if it has not been doing it on the hose.

I just don't think you want to take too many steps more before seeing if anything you have done to date worked. You may wind up at least doing a lot of needless work and at worst breaking something else in your search. I know I have fixed things and then (not knowing I fixed them), taken off a part or whatever and snapped a clip or a part. Then I ultimately find I didn't even need to be doing that.

To close the thread...did a water test today before troubleshooting more things. Boat ran amazing. I hit 44 mph on the speedometer.
Best guess:
- loose connection that was fixed when applying the dielectric grease
- oil slightly overfilled (I removed a little bit before taking it out since we found some oil near the air filter in the housing)
Thank you all, but especially @tdonoughue for all the back and forth texting and going above/beyond to get the YDS cable.
