Engine Rebuild

mr1 is super easy to check if the injectors are actually firing. you can do this in 10 min. take off the cover so you have access to the throttle bodies. leave the fuel connected and unbolt the 4 throttle bodies from the engine. once loose you can rotate the throttle body assembly so the engine side is now facing up. you may need to disconnect a wire or two then reconnect once rotated. crank the engine over and you will be able to visually see each injector fire off. you will be able to identify dirty injectors or ones that misfire or are completely dead.

@Julian how about some trophy points for a pic of one of your engines hanging from a hook? That’s got to be worth 2x the points of a sucking up a rope.

I think if it is only an MR1, that should be 1/2 the points. After all, they are such simple engines. Now, if it were a 1.8L...

A 2 cylinder Seadoo 717 is probably a quarter of the points then.

Update...The wire from ECM to fuel pump was damaged during engine removal. After quick repair engine runs great. How i found it? Well i learned having key in on position don't start pump. Only when engine is turning will it pump. I did remove floor and switch connectors on pumps. Hooked up water bottle to fuel line to see flow. No fire extinguisher was needed. :)

That's weird because I have swapped fuel lines on my boat to test a problem and I was able to run them like that.

Very glad you figured out the problem!
