Fantastic Customer Service from Lectrotab!!!

I posted on here about six and a half years ago about putting Lectrotab trim tabs on my boat. I had mentioned how awesome the ordering was and the help I got picking out a system was top notch.

Well, six and a half years later one of the tab actuators failed. Not bad actually considering the abuse they get and being underwater a lot of their life. It simply stopped working, my guess is it finally got some water in it and corroded the motor. So I started looking for a replacement and noticed they were showing a 7 year warranty on the actuators. So I dug out my old order emails and amazingly enough I was still just barely under warranty! I was actually pretty surprised they had a warranty that long on something marine related like that.

In those order emails I had corresponded with a guy named Dan at Lectrotab, but that was again, almost 7 years ago. The world is a little different place since then. So just for kicks I sent him an email describing the actuator failure. To my surprise, he still works there! And he was just as helpful taking care of a warranty claim as he was during the sale. I was blown away by how he, and a couple other super nice people at Lectrotab, took care of the whole situation. I got a replacement actuator incredibly quickly and the boat is already back together with a working trim tab system again.

I just figured I'd pass the experience along, and also give an almost 7 year update on the trim tabs themselves. In my opinion, they're absolutely one of the best mods I've done to my boat. They make rough water SO much nicer to go through. And even when they're all the way up, they still add to the length of the hull a little bit so the effect of smoothing out the bumps is even noticeable when they're not in use. When the actuator failed, not being able to use the tabs was horrible! lol. Seriously though, when we had to endure a couple days at the lake in rough water without being able to use them, my wife was like "I don't care what it costs to fix them, we NEED to get them working again!". The other time we were really missing them was in "No Wake" zones. I often put the tabs all the way down when going slow, it puts the bow down so it doesn't plow nearly as much. Getting up on plane is also much faster with the tabs, they'll go full down until it planes out, then they go up.

Anyway, there you go guys! Evidently you can still get amazing customer service these days. And for a product we've come to realize how much we depend on it and how much we missed it. Thanks Dan, Heather and Amy! You can be proud of the work you do and know it was appreciated.

The boat has been amazing for all these years! We have a GP1800 and an FX Cruiser SVHO too but if we could only keep one toy for the water, it would absolutely be the 212 Limited S.

I did just do a cool mod to the trailer but as usual it's one of my "don't try this at home" mods. lol. I'll post up a thread on it. I also have an update for my thread where I showed how I took the intake grates off, I'll do that too.
