Hellllo all!

I seriously can't believe it's already July 4th tomorrow. But thats okay. We depart Saturday for a week up in the Elk Rapids/Traverse City MI area.

We are keeping our boat at the Harbor in Elk Rapids and while we didn't use the electric service last year, they have 30a service I'd like to use to keep our battery's topped off. I do have the 30a plug, plus adapter to fit the regular three pong cord (hat tip, West Marine) however what I want to know is - can I use the standard extension cords/trickle chargers on the 30a cord? or do I need a converter?

Standard cord is ok - just don't let any of it lay in the water. Have a great trip!

The 30a designation ONLY refers to that circuit's ability to carry current. The fuse and wire gauge are rated to carry UP TO 30a but can carry anything less also. You will notice the 30a cord is very thick to carry the full load if necessary. Your charger's cord is very small in comparison as it's probably only rated for 5 or 6 amps.
