Getting a message "High Main Battery Voltage"

My Yamaha 424 Limted E-series boat would start after the hurricanes. The batteries (2) are connected together. I placed the main battery on a trickle charger over night and the boat started the next day. I am getting the message "High Main Battery Voltage" What does this mean and what should I do?

Are you able to test the batteries to rule them out?

I had a high voltage warning a few years back and it was my voltage regulator. A fairly straightforward part to replace.

If you have a volt meter handy....what is the battery voltage? Some non smart trickle chargers do not have regulators and can overcharge/gas the battery, lessening performance and life.
