Hi all, it's been awhile since I logged on here. I'm taking the fam to Gulf Shores next month and I really want to bring my Yammy AR-240 and explore the Intercoastal a little bit. BUT... it would be a lot easier to NOT bring it and stick to the beach (but not as FUN). I am looking for advice and maybe some tips, areas to explore, etc. I am sure there are plenty of Gulf Shore veterans here who can tell me where to put in, go, etc.

So... first question, what to do? Do I bring the Yammy or no?? I am asking a bunch of boaters so I can probably predict this answer...

And if YES, where do I put in and/or take it??

I am also interested more info on things to do.

We will be bringing our 255XD down a couple weeks after you and are staying at the Phoenix on the Bay. The property has it's own dock, boat ramp, and trailer parking!

Yes, I am looking at some properties like that, as well. But we have little ones on the trip who are not gonna be happy if there is no easy walk to the (Gulf) beach.

BRING THE BOAT!!! We boat down here and LOVE IT!!!

I brought my boat down to gulf shores from Wisconsin about six years ago. We go down there every other summer or so, going back in August this year. We stay in a house on the beach with a pool. My boat only went in the water one day during the week that we were there. I’m glad I brought it and got to boat in the Gulf, but I haven’t brought it back down there.

If you were going with a group whose main focus was boating while you’re there, definitely bring it, because it’s awesome. But for us it’s too easy to just sit by the pool and gulf side beach.
