Hopefully I've resolved the fueling issues with better support and slope of the fuel hose.... all for about $10.
I was able to get a couple #6 SS machine screws, washers, nylon nuts and a couple stainless / rubber wire clamps. I removed one of the sheet metal screws from the cabin light and fire extinguisher port and replaced it with the #6 screws. I then put a wire clamp on each machine screw and locked them in place with the nylok nuts.
I also had some 1/2" wide heavy duty zip ties and ran those through the wire clamps and adjusted the zip ties to support the hose so it was slopped properly down to the tank. I won't have to worry about the wire clamps or zip ties ever breaking and allowing the fuel hose to sag.
I then took some 5200 and put the original plastic clips back on the firewall so I could use them to zip tie a couple wiring harnesses that were running along the fuel hose.
My plastic clips had no residue on the base of them. I don't know how they were held on. It almost looks like they were held on by the white paint. You can see how the clip is painted over in the pic below. There were several like this one that weren't used scattered about the engine compartment.
I was hoping I could get the guys driving the lifts to drive my boat over to a fuel pump so I could try to fill to fill it before the next time I take her out.... but it was a zoo this morning with them moving boats around... looks like MarineMax was getting setup for a boat show.
So I'll have to wait until the next time I can take it out to see if the hose routing fixed the problem. Unfortunately it may be a while. Looks like 15 - 20kt winds and 2'+ seas for the next several days and then we head out for a trip through Texas in the Motorhome for most of November.
I did get the McMaster Carr o-rings installed in the clean out ports as well. The plugs seem to lock and unlock without much more effort so I'll be looking forward to test that as well and see if it eliminate the water getting into the bilge under speed.
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions!
