Help, how is the upper timing chain guide installed / held in place ???

So I’m installing new upper timing Chain guides (the new and used plastic parts in the pic) but wondering how they stay in place. I thought they would snap in place but they seem to just float over / on the chain the posts only keep it from moving left and right inside the cover and the shape of the cover keeps it from moving back and forth.

is this correct or should I use some kind of adhesive to mount the guides?

i may use gasket seal to hold it in place for installation.

hoping someone else here knows what to do 8n this situation.

I used a couple dots of JB weld. Was also told an oil resistant RTV would work. I didn't see anything in the manual for it.
