Help needed, engine won't start.

The boat is not efficient nor practical by any means, the technology is dated, it's very loud, having to add good oil all the time is another constant expense and I'm sure it pollutes a lot. Having said that I've oddly become fond of it??So I'll think I'll keep the boat and make it my next project to get it back to or close to it's original condition.

Yep, everything about it is obnoxious. But there’s not another Yamaha I’d rather have.

Good news is they are extremely simple to rebuild...if you can change the brakes on a car...there isn’t anything to be afraid of on the boat.

I’m not a fan of pre mix so if you have the oil injection parts I’d strongly consider going back to oil injection. You’ll use a little bit less oil as well.

Let me give you a competing perspective that will result in the same outcome...Regardless of your future plans for the boat, You can only use it or sell it effectively once the engine is running. It's to you benefit regardless of which way you proceed to make it a working boat, even if you later decide you want something else.

Best of Luck!

Do keep us updated on the progress! Sad to hear of the seizure, but looking forward to your posting your progress.

Again many thanks for all the valuable input from you all, I really do appreciate it. And I most certainly will update my progress with the rebuild, I don't know any mechanics that I'd trust so I'll likely try my hand at doing it myself. I look forward in having it back on the water and running strong by springtime.
