Help on engine diagnostic

Need a little help to see if I can locate the issue before hauling the boat to the shop. We were out on the lake Saturday and the boat was running great, put a kid on the knee board and pulled her around a little then when I went to turn around in mid turn the boat shut off. Now it won’t crank back up. The motor turns but won’t fire. No blown fuses, Fuel pump is fine it’s pumping fuel, batteries are strong, spark plugs and oil were replaced at the beginning of the summer and she has ran fine all summer long. I cannot figure out what caused the engine to just shut off.

well check fuel, compression and spark and if all are good it will run... it may not run well but it will run ?

Check the kill switches on the clean-out plug hatch.

Found out after removing the valve cover last night the timing chain snapped. I was hoping that wasn’t the issue and postponed pulling the valve cover till I had ruled out any other possibility
