There are cheap 12v buzzers that can be installed under the helm. The cheapest place is probably your local electronics parts store if that still exists for you.

Anything 12v that makes nose works.

Yeah, I was thinking something waterproof in the cockpit area. I worry about hearing it if it's not out in the open.

Yeah, makes more sense once I thought more about it. Could put the wire/sensor down in the bilge and maybe the cable is long enough to put siren in the battery compartment where it might be heard easier.... gonna look at those styles. Could make the wire longer too if needed.

Its loud enough to hear while the boat is running but you could extend the wire

I am thinking about installing a sensor as well. I read the recent thread where the guys boat took on water and flooded. I'd like to avoid that if I can

I already have a 2nd bilge pump and float installed. I am thinking about using the same float and just wiring in an audible alarm in the cockpit. Just not sure what to use. Did a quick look on amazon and didn't see anything. Anyone install a waterproof, loud buzzer?

I replaced my connext alarm with one of the Floyd bell turbos that does an intermittent beep instead. It’s adjustable and plenty loud to hear outside the helm if you want it to be.

Yes sir. I can always relocate later. But I may end up putting the fume alarm in the dash. I'm sheepish about drilling anywhere on my boat. For now. I like the alarm there so I know I will hear it. I'm not crazy about the fuse holder, but it's only a 1A fuse. Using a mini or micro fuse holder would be another option, but no way to access it easily.

Easiest way is to run a fuse block under the helm from the battery. Then take out the inline fuse and just throw in a 1 amp ATC into the fuse block and wire directly to that. I removed all but 1 inline fuses and have them all in the fuse block and labeled so it is easy to change. Also it stops you from tapping power and as mods increase you can make it real nice and clean.

I am sure you saw where I put my fume/vapor alarm.

No fear on the drilling. Once I finished the tabs and then the transducer, I have no problem drilling as can be seen in my mods. If you lived closer I could help you get over that anxiety

Agreed, I will definitely be adding bus bars and fuse panels at some point. I wanted a fuse within my reach if need be. I've done a lot of automotive wiring in my career. Once I upgrade the audio and start adding LED lighting and other mods, I will wire accordingly. Right now, that was just one easy circuit. I guess I should tell you I used stainless steel screws to mount the switch to a piece of starboard. I will attach inside the engine compartment with 4200 or 5200. Not sure which one yet. Still deciding location.

It's all good. I get where you are coming from. I screwed mine down with stainless screws and 4200 the screws through the glass.
