Yes this can EASILY be over done. The smaller the grease gun, the better. Resistance in the pump handle is more easily felt with a smaller grease gun. Once you feel the resistance build up relative to the first few pumps, proceed with extreme caution. It is all feel.Be careful not to overfill it with grease. Search and read several posts about it.
@Murf'n'surf - maybe I did something wrong, but please check your reference -- when I clicked on your link it took me to this Riva exploded diagram, where #4 is a mounting bolt & washer:It's directly aft of the motor. It's has a plastic shield over it and a grease nipple. #4 in chart below
