JetBoaters.net Bimini Fling July 9th to 14th 2018

We had connecting condos which I am sure we won't get again. I think they should give us some sort of option for a refund if we can't be accomdated with very similar rooms. I still want to go but I know my wife will not like if we can't get connecting rooms.

Thanks again Bruce for all you do as I know this is not your fault and you are doing everything you can.

I'm pretty sure that is the only connecting unit like that there. If you want a full refund and to cancel your reservation I would call them on that as since each unit is individually owned they really will not be able to offer much in the way of compensation.

18A that we got moved to was OK it actually was an ocean view and Marina view unit all in one and the AC worked and water pressure was good. Only issue was the washing machine took like 4 hours to run to clean clothes but that can be worked around.

@newbote did have the only connecting condos at Bimini Sands.

The HOA and Rentals at Bimini Sands are doing all they can to help us.

The "developer's staff" at Bimini Sands has demanded that the prepaid reservations be cancelled for the following condos that are owned by the developer.

I want to get this list out there so that you can be aware of the situation as you are preparing to depart for Fort Lauderdale. The Rentals At Bimini Sands staff are working to assign other condos to your and my reservations. We may know our new condo assignments before the end of the day.

The status of our slip reservations is unclear at the moment.

I will update as soon as I know more.
wow
unbelievable

8F was actually very nice, well stocked, ac was almost too cold at night, washer and dryer worked like a charm, the only negative was the flapper in the toilet upstairs was broken, they had a kit under the sink to fix it but we were too lazy to do it.
there was a king in the bedroom and a trundle the separated into two twins in the loft and I brought a queen air mattress that I used up there with plenty of room. And the couch down stairs pulls out to a full bed

Ok thanks, I will call them. Did they give you a reason why they canceled all the reservations of the developer owned condos?

Bruce, I know you are very much against Resortsworld but when I was over there I grabbed a flyer that offered an $89 a night special if you booked before you left. I may be able to call in a favor if necessary

@newbote, I think it would be best not to call today. Rentals at Bimini Sands is working to find replacements for everyone.

The developer's representative pulled developer owned condos out of the rental pool. It is obstructive BS.

How functional and full were the Resort's World Marinas?

It is a very different financial model. Always eating out and very expensive slips.

I was actually in shock to see that almost all of the first set of docks are completely gone, but there are more infront of the casino.

Those docks missing from Resort's World had exposed styrofoam floats that covered most of north Bimini after the hurricane.

The Sapona is there because she ran aground in a storm. You do not want to join her in 2' seas.

Ok here is the thing we paid las week las portion of this reservation and nothing was told there’s a or of money on this not just the hotel and this is going on since yesterday and they haven’t said anything about. Now I was told they have no place for us ? Even if a new developer booth this the have to grant the existing contracts and a sale does not happen in one day. They did have knowledge about this situation even before taking money

ok things like this does not happen in one day they had to have previous knowledge a week ago last portion of money was paid and now they don’t want give explanation and they don’t even know when money will be returned

@Pedro cruz, It will take time for Rentals At Bimini Sands to find replacement units.

There are many parties at play at Bimini Sands. This move was made yesterday. The Rentals staff was shocked as well.

Fortunately our money is in the hands of Rentals at Bimini Sands who has demonstrated honesty in the past.

Marcy said they no have more condos available after we paid full amount couples months ago. And they no know who go a pay the refund 4!days before the trip.I never see something like that before.

As long as you have paid with credit card, I will not loose much sleep over the refund. It might take a while can you will get your money back. For the record I cancled my condo in May and I still have not got my deposit back.

Especially if they canceled your condo, you can dispute the charge and it is game over.
As we are getting 48 hours to making a decision, I would say " try not to factor in money as much as possible". There is one thing to be disappointed and be $500 or $600 in the hole and another thing to take a biting , take damage on the boat get disappointed while in Bimini and have incurred more than $5k in cost.
