JetBoaters.net Bimini Fling July 9th to 14th 2018

@Bruce is in the inlet. He is doing 6mph, I guess he does not want to get pulled over by Johnny Law.

traditionally the thread is being started by the person who makes to Bahia Mar but does not make it Bimini ;)
Ouch that hurt... :(

Technically I didn’t even make it to Bahia Mar, i was still 2 miles away.... :p

I have a moral vacuum when it comes to results and if pain increases the probability of you joining 2019, I will be Brutus and deliver that stub.....

It hasn't been 3 hours yet, he still has 12 minutes... :D

We played host to the Robalo group welcoming them to Bimini this morning then delivered, ham, cheese, rum and other goodies to Shark Lab. After that we ventured to North Bimini for a little last minute shopping and to fuel up. The power was off so we had to wait a little for fuel.

He must have some great water. Hoping to see that one day for a crossing!

It was nice water but not the best return conditions that we have seen. Those flappy things on the back of my boat make a huge difference. Get some. We had an “ouch” free crossing.

it looks like....
I am wating for him to hit the patch of weed. He is getting pretty close to weed-field

I swerved through lots of that stuff often at full throttle. I was cavitating enough to reduce top speed but still had full coolant flow so we did not stop. Rana has some video of that.

there is something fundamentally wrong with this guy.
He does not burn any fuel during the crossing and he does not touch any weed.
No-one should be surprised if he ends up walking in water during the 2019 crossing.....

I burned ~ half a tank.

Now the last boat is safe at Bahia Mar, we can start planing for 2019

I am already making plans.

They were waiting for me at the turning basin.

The initial bump northward in our crossing was when the spotted dolphins came out to see us off.

Here is a little video from the middle of the crossing.

Does the video say “2019 “ ?

@Emma was so excited that the spotted dolphins came out to say goodbye to us.

@Bruce I hate you so much right now....

Sorry, dad..... I just don't enjoy being embarrassed

Emma, Dads are designed to embarrass their kids. It is our duty as caring and loving fathers.

With that said, your Dad was just proud of your emotional and sensitive response. It probably doesn’t make sense now, but one day you’ll understand completely.

That`s the point

@Betik, this is how we made it through the seaweed. Of course this is only two lines of it but the same technique was applied to each line.

I did pick some up and lost some efficiency but the cooling water was always flowing and I had plenty of fuel.
