JetBoatPilot SeaDek Faux Teak Group Buy

I'm a little late to the party, but I am at least buying a swim deck kit, and will probably go with a whole interior lot as well. What exactly is the process to determine what you are buying? Staying there a link to the online catalog? Thanks in advance

Yamaha changed that table mount to a matte finish in 2014 to eliminate this problem. Glass beading your mount or other wise eliminating the glossy coating should stop this.

I believe I have read that some of the new style table mounts are polished and act like a mirror creating a hot spot on the swim deck.

It is not an issue with the deck material but with the act of shining a mirror at it.
More detail: i believe this is in reference to the square shaped table receiving bracket mounted on the lower vertical step on the swim deck reflecting. Not the post or table itself. My boat has the round base central on the swim deck and isnt a concern

Yes, this problem is for squares on pre 2014 boats only.

No they didnt. . . . At least not on my 2014. I have already discussed with the dealer and it should be warrantiable.

Here is the link posted by Will @JetBoatPilot. We are well over the 20 mark so the discount should be 25% with free shipping. The only way it would get better @zelone is if Will @JetBoatPilot would come out and do free installs if we hit the 30 mark. Hmmm... :winkingthumbsup"

OK I'm in for new swim deck and jumpseat SeaDek. Titanium on Black faux teak.. What a deal.

@0627Devildog My 2014 does not have Chrome mounts. I have not had any heat issues (it gets really hot in Oklahoma). It might have been a mid year change.

I have some of these marks on my 2013 swim deck but didn't realize it was the table mount that caused them. They were already there when I bought the boat but I didn't think anything of them. I keep my boat in the garage and it has still gotten worse over time. What can I do to prevent this? Will the Seadek material "melt" from this reflection as well?

I would think the dark OEM material would be more susceptible to this problem than the lighter material as it would absorb more heat. I'm not aware of any means to fix the damage done as it has melted. To mitigate further damage you can tape or rough up the shiny surface on the table mount (Will @JetBoatPilot suggested bead blasting) or call your dealer to see if Yamaha will fix it under warranty. The only other solution is only boat on cloudy days... Just kidding.

If your boat is under warranty, Yamaha may warrant the hydroturf. But I tried to get them to replace the table side mounts and they wouldn't do that. I like what @JetBoatPilot said about having them bead blasted to a dull finish, I think you could brush them with osilation sanding too, but not sure I want to be the guinea pig on that one! I may get them bead blasted however! Good idea Will! You could also have them powder coated. Anything to give it a matte finish will do it, just stop the reflection directly onto the turf.

A slide in cover would also work, because when the table is mounted, the sun is pretty much blocked, it is when it isn't mounted that the is the problem.

Any of our 3D printers want to make a few bucks making covers for these?

Exactly what I was thinking. I would pay for that AS WELL AS A THROTTLE SYNCH (wink, wink).

Have Will send you some SeaDek samples. You can just stick them on your table mount to match your swim deck material. Problem solved. Cost $0. :)

I was just thinking this. Lemme see if i can ebay a mount and design around it!!!!

@justason , if you can do it, it would be best IMO, if it had a face and actually slid I to the table leg slot. That would keep it on there.
