Many years ago they used t have this massive concert on Lake Martin called Aquapalooza. Alan Jackson and many other country stars would perform and you could be right in the water up by the stage. Massive sea of boats would come out for these things. I never went to experience it but It’s impressive seeing that many people in an area on the water having a concert.

Yup it was by Kowaliga bridge. I think they canceled doing it because people were getting hurt. I would love to have been there but I would not drive my boat after that concert all day. I would just have to anchor it near the shore and camp to sleep it off :D. Alan Jackson rode around in his vintage wooden Chris Craft boat named Hoochie Coochie at the event and said he grew up learning to drive a boat on Lake Martin. Good little local read on it Alan Jackson makes another good memory on Lake Martin

Yea sleep it off is probably the best option. I can only imagine....Probably worse than the 4th July fireworks exodus and Massive Trump boat parades..lol

Maybe we can meet up one day for a beer at the Kowaliga Restaurant. We use to go to Wind Creek and camp but had to sell the camper so we rent houses now. Not sure where you are on Martin, but we are Going to be close to Kowaliga for a week near the end of June.
Love Martin and the wife wants to retire there in about 5-7yrs when the kids head to college...but thats another story.

We used to have a similar, albeit smaller, event at Thayer Beach in Colchester. The last one was in 2016. The day started out nice and ended in chaos. I have not heard of it on the Lake since.

Yea that would be cool sometime. We don’t own any property down there so we also rent homes when we want to make it vacation. I keep my boat on the East side of the lake near Sandy Creek. We typically don’t go on the Kowaliga side of the lake too much due to all the boat traffic getting there but we are game to meet up sometime for a beer and some lunch. Chuck’s is always good too lol. We are supposed to pick a house to rent for sometime in the summer but I just haven’t decided and booked the dates yet. Bummed the awesome house we used last year the owners jumped the price by $200 more a night!! We loved everything about that house the location on the lake, close to my storage, close to Dadeville for food and stuff, killer view, fenced yard, awesome deck you bake it but now the new owners realized they could ask way more than what it used to rent for a night :(. View from the deck...

This year there will be a new yellow pontoon ice cream boat going around in addition to the other food or beverage boats. I used to put in at Wind Creek all the time as I love the ramp there and parking but these days I found a nice ramp that hardly many people use so there is not much or a wait time or anything to put in or pull out.
