Hey guys - glad to have found this community. I am not only new to boating, but new to jet boats. I have yet to take out my LS2000. I do have a few questions that I will post within the appropriate thread. I'm on Jackson Lake in Georgia. Looking forward to my new adventure, but I am also somewhat nervous being a newbie. I hope to use you guys as a resource in the coming days/weeks. Cheers!

There is a forum here specifically for your model of Yamaha boat. I recommend you check it out. There is a ton of GREAT information in there about the known issues common to the 2 stroke Yamaha boats. Don't let the phrase known issues scare you ...working on the boat is half the fun. Just to get you started look at the threads on oil line replacement and clean out plug fixes...those are a few things you may want check before your first time out.

You have a great boat and it will be a blast on the water and like I said if you are DIY inclined there is a lot you can do. Enjoy.

glad to have you on board, do you know any of the history of the boat, previous owner?

they are fun boats but do require some preventive measures being 2 strokes as treeskier mentioned above,

Thanks guys. Yes the boat still has the oil injector and the lines have recently been replaced. He also replaced the chokes with primer pumps. Had a helluva time getting the clean out plugs removed, so I ordered the repair kit and the EZ Locks. I do enjoy tinkering so I’m looking forward to it.

Welcome, just mentioned the oil lines in your other thread ;)

Personally I think the primer pumps are a bad idea. Not that there is anything wrong with them but more in that they are a crutch that lets you ignore the real problem. Which can lead to more expensive problems

If the boat is hard to start without priming there is something wrong. Most likely the carbs and fuel pump diaphragms are old and need to be rebuilt.

Welcome again to the forum (responded to another post).

x2 on everyone's comments above. That is a clean boat and your going to have a good time with that setup

Be sure to remove the plugs after every outing and I see you are going to rebuild them. The EZ locks are also a necessary upgrade so you don't have a blowout.

Sounds like you have a winner there. EZ locks are the way to go. Make sure you dig up the thread on here on where to drill the hole so you can attach the lock before you insert the plug.

Also make sure on your oil line job they used some type of retainer clips or wire on the oil line ends to prevent them from falling off.
