Once a season we pull the boat out, do a deep clean and then go on a short road trip with our friends who have a large camper, both families staying together. This year we chose Lake Chautauqua, couple hours east of Cleveland in NY. Any thoughts on this lake, things to do, avoid? Its a mid-July trip this year, Wednesday to Sunday I think.

Didn't get a reply when the New Yorkers were still under snow, so now we're in the summer months and more activity. We found quite a bit todo at this lake and decided to add another day to the trip. Planning to overnight dock at Long Point State Park as we're camping at the KOA right there. Should be a fun long weekend trip. Any advice for this lake?

Just did a search on Chautauqua - this is an old post, but if still interested. Southern Tier Brewery and Distillery is outstanding if you are into that. If not, there is an excellent Cuban sandwich shop in downtown Jamestown.

We used to fish for Walleye there. We never looked for any other entertainment while we were there. Fish, sleep, eat, fish.
