One thing that has not discussed here is the 2" ball and ball mount, a thief can easily remove the nut from the ball, lift it out of your ball mount - then use the trailer tongue jack to move the boat to their tow vehicle, insert the ball into their ball mount, put on the nut and drive away. I always weld my trailer balls to the mount along with the other security measures mentioned in this thread. Balls and Ball mounts are cheap, so I have all three sized balls and different mounts with different drops - all welded on, it's extra time and money, but I sleep good knowing it's as secure as possible.
So true. Even easier is to take off the tiny nut that keeps the coupler secured to the ball, then pop the trailer off the ball.

If there's a will, there's a way.

My security method (other than all the traditional locks on every coupler, swing away, etc) is to park right next to the most expensive boat in the lot/marina. That way most eyes don't even notice my "modest" Yamaha sitting there in plain sight ;).

Mine is similar to the referenced Amazon set, but purchased separately. This combination seems like it would take some work to get through and hopefully would make a thief look for an easier target. Shown here on my light duty trailer.

A small tack weld on that nut would keep it secure LOL. I always park in a well lit area and if there are nicer boats around, that's a bonus ;)

Here are a few pics of the locks I have on my Pwc trailer, I use a lot of the same gear on my boat trailer as well.

I've never thought about someone stealing my boat. Guess I'm lucky it's kept in an area with no boat thefts. If they want it? They can have it as mine is insured for more than what I paid for it. A good deal if you use Boat US. I love my boat, but if someone swipes it? I hope I never see it again and it will be on to the next one.....Too much of a PITA to go through all that time to lock it up.
