Recently searched through the threads and saw many mentions of Techron and Amsoil injector cleaner. Did not see anything about Lucas treatments. My father owned a trucking company for many years and always sworn allegiance to Lucas oil and fuel treatments for both diesel and gasoline engines. Has anyone ever used Lucas injector cleaner in their Yamaha boats?

Personally I think all injector cleaner would be similar with only the concentration(how strong) being a little different, and usually that's reflected in the price.

I'm a Seafoam fanboy, especially on small engines. I do treat my storage gas with it as well. Seafoam claims to do injectors too, not sure how it compares to Lucas or the others.

I also think that, if you run the motor often enough using fresh gas, your injectors are probably fine.

I'm with you on the use is better and a gas treatment like Stabil when not in use. The spark plugs will tell you how clean the injector nozzles are..... if one has corrosion built up on nozzles she will not combust the fuel charge well and the plugs will run black and rich. Depending on how rich and black will determine if a injector cleaner will work or not. Little on the rich side maybe..........most times it better just to remove injector and bench clean them until they give you good spray pattern.

Had a rotax engine that sat too long, gas went bad, engine ran horrible. Pumped all the old fuel out, new plugs and Lucas injector cleaner and it ran great after that.

Yamaha med rx in the boat, as recommended.
