Anybody make a blunder on the first major weekend of the boating season they’d also care to share?

I was braking after coming over an in town overpass (35 mph) and saw boat swing toward our truck and realized I had forgotten to put the pin back in the trailer tongue. FML could have ended FUBAR but ended as good as it could have....turned into an empty parking lot, slowly stopped, placed tire blocks in front of wheels, straightened tongue enough, buddy pushed boat to side while I was hammering pin into holes with a sledge that a good Samaritan provided and viola...glad I use a commercial Master-lock to secure the trailer to the ball. The apparatus was slightly bent but not so much to finish out the weekend. Will be ordering a whole new trailer tongue to not risk future failures. To top off the weekend, we lost our anchor after trying for 15 minutes to free it.

Glad yours ended as good as it did!

I almost lost an anchor, I pulled and pulled, all different directions, pulled gave slack then pulled the other direction….I was going to the compartment to get my knife and decided to try pulling with the boat one more time and it came loose.
I’m sure the box anchor was stuck on a tree…
