I just added MM1's to the swim platform on my 2018 212LS using the stock PA4A head unit and the starboard side speaker only outputs from the tweeter, there’s no bass. I swapped the speaker with the port side and it works fine. Any suggestions from anyone? Not sure if the prior speaker had the same issue or not unfortunately.

Thanks

So both speakers have no bass when put them in that location? Do all the other speakers on the boat work properly?

Curious why you changed them and if they sound better (obviously not the bad side). I’ve got the same boat and one of my tweeters got broken off.

That’s correct, when both speakers are on the port side they work fine. I changed them because someone stepped backwards onto one and broke it.

I will say when installing them I had to make the cutout larger as the overall size is larger. The larger size prevents the cover from sitting flush on the boat unfortunately.

Maybe the phase is reversed?
On my boat there are tweeters in the tower and crossovers in the underseat storage - is it possible that speaker got wired from the crossover somehow?
Is there some metal or something behind it that is bumping into the woofer connections and maybe shorting it?
Interesting problem... I hope you can figure it out.

I tested it before securing them into the fiberglass to make sure nothing was interfering. As for the crossover, I don't believe I have one with the factory unit....I need to trace the wiring back and see if I can figure anything out.

Thanks for the response.
