So the audio equipment has been ordered and the plan is about 95% set. The boat will have the following:

(1) Wet sounds SD6 amp
(2) Wet sounds SD2 amps
(4) Wet sounds REV 10's
(8) Wet sounds Revo 6 coaxials
(2) Wet sounds Revo 10 subs

I plan to remove all 6 of the OEM Wet sounds 6.5" speakers. They are their "Recon" series and although I'm sure they are decent, I don't think they'll have the power handling capability for the SD6 amp so switching them out for the Revo series as well as adding a pair mid cabin. The OEM subwoofer is a Revo series, so I'll keep that and add another one most likely on the starboard side somewhat in the same location as the factory one on the port. They will be run off of the first SD2 amp. I am a little concerned with not having enough bass this time around, but I did keep my XXXV2 from the last boat just in case 😁. Tower will have 4 REV 10's with swivel clamps running off of the other SD2 like the last boat. I'll be running 3 batteries (one start and two house) on a two bank charger. This set up worked well for me before so I'll stick with it.
The garage is already stacking up. All my power wire is in, RCA's are in, New Fusion plug for the stern head unit, and a big sheet of King Starboard.

Yaaaaaaasssssssss

Picked out a spot for the Promariner onboard charger. If you look close, there is an area near my thumb that is thickened from the factory in the fiberglass. I cut a piece of 1/2 birch plywood and put a coat of fiberglass resin over it. Pulled back the carpet and glued in place with 5200. I'll come back tomorrow once the 5200 cures and spray adhesive the carpet back down and make the call whether or not I feel like it will hold the weight of the charger. Good call on the Revo 6 upgrade on the cabin/bow/swim deck. I did the same (except for the swim deck, which are 5.25") and thought it was well worth the investment.

Yeah.... I knew that the SD6 would have way too much power for the RECON's. The REVOs are substantially deeper though and I am a little worried about the depth on the mid cabin speakers. I may find out today if I have time to cut some holes.

Your boat came with stock Recon 6.5s?

Yes.... 3 pair. One in the bow, one in the cockpit and one on the swim platform.... And a Revo 10" sub.

Got the amp board cut and ready today. It's 1/2" HDPE (off brand King Starboard). In the planning stages here but waiting on another distribution block. It will eventually be mounted in the compartment behind the helm. IMG_20191021_164115.jpg

Nice! Are you using factoring wiring or pulling any new speaker wire? Not sure where you are planning on mounting the mid cabins, but I had no clearance issues with JL mx650's, and they are pretty deep.

On the last boat I tapped in to the speakers behind the helm. This one I am pulling all new. It's probably just as fast to do that as opposed to figuring out how/why Yamaha decided to do some of the speakers in series, etc. Besides..... The Revos have leds built in so I have to run wire for them as well. I've seen several with the JL MX650's mid cabin. According to the specs, the Revos are even deeper so I have my fingers crossed.

Yes! Everything fit. No spacers needed. Nothing wired yet, but everything is test mounted. Used a 5" hole saw for the REVO's and a Rotozip with circle guide for the 10" REVO sub. Just have to move/secure the big wire harness behind the sub. Grills are charcoal grey with stainless accents. Haven't pulled the protective coating off of them yet IMG_20191022_161510.jpgIMG_20191022_162101.jpgIMG_20191022_162215.jpgIMG_20191022_164300.jpgIMG_20191022_164651.jpgIMG_20191022_171354.jpgIMG_20191022_173002.jpgIMG_20191022_174123.jpgIMG_20191022_174311.jpg

Looks good. I would of been nervous about space that high up too. I mounted my mid cabins much lower under the throttle and cup holders. I bet it’s going to sound great.

I'm planning to do the bulk of the install during the last weekend of this month while my wife is out of town so I wanted to get these hole cut to see if I needed to order some more Starboard to make some spacer rings. So glad to get this behind me.

I bet. I remember how stressful it was cutting those holes. I may pick up a Moomba soon with base stereo and have dealer upgrade the audio through a local audio shop they partner with. Not sure if I can go through that whole process again!
