So I have done a bit of work and upgrading to our boat over the past 2yrs. Progress has been a bit slow due to not having it for 2mo of last season for warranty steering work.

1. Subwoofer mounting ring is hallow and makes a buzzing sound during certain frequency. So I removed it and poured flex seal into the cracks. Then to make sure the flex seal fills into all of the voids I put it into a vacuum chamber. The vacuum chamber was a milk crate inside a heavy duty trash bag. Then used a shop vac. Also did a 1/8" foam gasket on the mounting surface between the ring and the boat. And even found a spot where the basket of the subwoofer interfered with tapered part of the ring so it got foam gasket too.

2. Replaced stock air boxes with cone style air filters. Mainly to make room for #3.

3. Relocation of house batteries to the starboard engine airbox area. My start and house, consist of four 6v 240 amp hour batteries. A custom battery tray was made for this.

4. Intake manifold ribbon deletes from Aqua sports performance.
5. Adjustable pump cones from Aqua sports performance.

6. Fizzle blow off valves.
7. Oil separators Mishimoto knockoffs Amazon

8. Three 10" subwoofer in the rear clean out compartment. Soon to be ported/ venting the clean out compartment to just behind the lower swim deck back rest cushions.

9. Transom RGB light's. No one had what I wanted so I made my own. The center is three 50w led cob chips the port and starboard are two 50w. I have only mounted the center due to working on trim tab mounts. The center is plenty bright but I want to be over the top.

Happen to have a part number off that Spectre air filter that I can use for size reference?

Spectre Universal Clamp-On Air Filter: High Performance, Washable Filter: Round Tapered; 3 in (76 mm) Flange ID; 6.5 in (165 mm) Height; 6 in (152 mm) Base; 4.75 in (121 mm) Top, SPE-9136

Thanks

On the list for this year is

  1. Lowrance HDS9 live have to make a bracket to slide the 12" conext sreen 2" to the left. Have to remove phone holder and make backet for the HDS9 and, a custom stern mount for the transducer.
  2. Zipwake 300mm install and wedge mount for the controller next to the Conext rotary control knob.
  3. SUBs... Need to move the three 12" Wet Sounds to their new location and add one more for a total of four.
  4. Make the manual wake booster harness. So that RPMs are not limited while fully ballast when surfing.
  5. Explore larger intercooler options.
  6. MapX tune
  7. Impeller options.

Ok so I ony got a few MODs done this year. Got the two smaller underwater LEDs that I made last year installed. I moved the connext screen over 1.5" to make room for the Lowrance HDS9. Made a custom mount for the Lowrance 9" and the 3 in 1 transducer. Made a wedge mount for the Zipwake controller. Moved one of the 12" WS subs to the captain chair area. Started to eliminate the rattling with some rubber trim inserts between the green and black trim. Installed a accessories fuse panel under the helm. Oh and started on the manual switches to control the wake boosters so I will not get RPM limits while wake surfing.

How are those subs holding up in the cleanout compartment - I imagine they get a lot of water on them on the front, and take a lot of heat on the back!

Oh and tell me more about Zip Wake ...

So I had way to big of an amp and drove the RockVilles a bit to hard. They sounded great. But with the subs in the back and turning up the sub level near the captains chair i separated two cones from the spiders. I was in a time crunch and ordered the Wetsounds 12" be cause they were 2 day shipping. The Heat is a bit of a concern but I have not had any issues yet. The ZipWakes work well and were the only other trim system other than seakeeper that can fit the 255X boat do to the wake booster. If i could have fit lectrotabs I would have went with them again

Reply to this thread after the install... I wonder if you could use the ZipWake to manually list the boat for a better surf wave.

I doubt it. I tried on our '18 242× with trim tabs and It would lift the stern too much. And you have to counter steer to correct the drag. The jet blows out the wave.

Awesome mods! What adapter parts did you use to get the connext to move over? With all the engine mods, What's your new top speed?

I just slid it to the side marked new holes in the screen housing not in the dash. Speeds are still stock.

Have you found a way to tune the Wetsounds amp? the crossover point is driving me crazy. The sound is really brittle and has so much high end and no low-mids.

There is no way to tune the factory amps. If you want better quality sound than factory, you gotta replace the amps.

I have not taken out the amps yet, but could these be mini crossover screws on the backside?
