My Boat was Hit!

Update: I dropped the boat off for repairs this afternoon. The estimate came in at $2100. The guy paid me cash last week for this plus a new cover and my time and expenses. We will settle up with any differences once the repairs are completed. Might have back before the holidays.

It's unfortunate that this happened but happy with the guys honesty!

Great news and glad honest people are still out there.

Seems like honest people are a rarity these days, glad this is getting resolved quickly.

Wow that was great of the guy to pay for your time too! Insurance would not cover that!

Glad to hear that you're on the mend.

So I got the boat back just before the Christmas week. I will be taking it back for some additional sanding/buffing. There is a slight haze around the repair area on the black. Will this come out with additional work? They used the Yamaha black. You can see the haze in the darker areas where my jacket is being reflected.

Little more compound/high speed buffer. If someone hits my boat I hope it's the same guy that hit yours. :)

Lot of losers would have drove off. Glad to hear it worked out.

Thanks!

I am still pissed that it happened but with the way it has been handled since, I am very appreciative. I would have been 99% sure that it was his trailer that hit the boat but just me knowing that might not have meant I would have collected any money. The fact that he owned up to it meant a lot. Not sure he had any idea what the damage might cost as originally he only thought it was the cover. So things might have been different if he knew.
