Silly question, but what exactly does the "tube bypass do in the carb? It's the small one that goes directly up the main nozzle in the middle.

I agree with raising the idle rpm. Try that first. May mask the real issue, but get you on the water for the rest of the season.

I'm guessing, whereas the fuel tank is lower than the carbs you probably have an electric fuel pump supplying a constant fuel pressure to the carbs. Whatever the carbs don't use is returned to the tank via the tube bypass.

No pump inside the tank, only on the engine. Just wasn't sure if that could be part of the issue. I think I need to just do a full carb rebuild on both just to rule that out.

Well I guess tomorrow I'll be doing a compression test and also a spark test. Looking like an engine rebuild over the winter but it is what it is.

If it runs once the throttle is opened, why not increase the idle so you can use it before you decipher it all?

I'm just afraid of doing more damage. If it's a cracked piston or bad rings it can get way worse and that's just my luck

Hey, it's your boat, but an engine with those issues runs bad at all rpms not just at idle.

Best of luck!

As long as it's not lean you should be good. If in fear put a little more two stroke oil in the mix.

Best of luck

It's oil injected so that would be an adjustment. I'm going to post a video

Some aluminum tape and/or or a well placed coin or two after you are comfortable, and BAM...smiles a plenty!
