New guy from NY...

So...a year has passed since I last posted here and have learned quite a lot! I had attended the boat show at the Javits center this last January with my wife and daughter and came extremely close to buying a Glastron GT 207. It was beautiful, black w/ a cognac interior. Unfortunately the salesman who really was awesome mistakenly made a mention to my wife how jet boats weren't really geared towards saltwater on account of organisms potentially growing in/around the propulsion, etc... if left in the water. I do not own a dock and the boat would be trailered and power washed, flushed with every use but... the wife put the kibosh on it...
So here I am again, I still want a boat! I just finished re-cladding the house with cedar plank panels, stained it sealed it and am about to re-do all the decks! I deserve a damn boat, if I can swing it! (probably not, I'm now broke!) I'm still leaning towards a GT 207 but, once again the Scarab 195 is beginning to call out to me. As before, when and if I get a boat I don't want to be making a mistake, as I truly want to enjoy the water with my family. I have become well versed with many of the potential issues with both manufacturers and really want to make a strong push for the boat without having it blow up in my face. Has Scarab been able to overcome some of its early issues, are Glastron's hulls better suited to saltwater maneuvering, chop, etc...? If I'm lucky I'll pull this off but, I dread the possibility of making the wrong choice.
Can any owners of either the Scarab or Glastron chime in with their honest opinions? it would be greatly appreciated.

@Tempest - The salesman was correct, to a degree, you don't want to wet slip a jet boat in salt water (for any extended amount of time [ie: over a week at a time]).

We have a Yamaha and boat solely in salt water and have done so since we bought her new in March 2015. We trailer every time and flush the engines and rinse/wash her off after every use and she still looks amazing.

I do not have any experience with Scarab and Glastron. But I am quite sure that with a good cleaning/maintenance routine you'll be fine with those boats as well.

If you leave ANY boat in salt water for a week or more you can expect things to start growing on it so jet boat or otherwise it is not really a good thing for the boat to be left in salt water and it appears that the warmer the water the faster things grow.
