Hello Jet Boaters! New to this type of boat(2011 Yamaha AR240)...and having a bit of an issue first time i took it out this year. Worked perfectly last summer. Right engine stalls completely at higher revs...maybe greater than 6500, and especially in "choppy" water. I believe it's electrical, just not familiar with the system. When it stalls, it's like the key was turned off. I start it back up and it runs perfectly again. Looking for any suggestions on where I should start. Thanks in advance!

Look at your clean out hatch, there's switches that must be depressed by the hatch lid for the motor to stay running. Adjust them up a bit for your "right" (assuming starboard) engine.

Check your clean out hatch safety switches. The buttons may not be compressing enough and then making your engine(s) cut out in chop. You can tape something to the top to make them compress more to see if that’s your issue or adjust them. If that’s not it I’d make sure your battery connections are tight as well. If you haven’t change the spark plugs yet that’s an easy fix too just to rule it out.

Y'all are absolutely correct! The back hatch only has the right side latch that works. That being said, it was actually unlatched. Easy peasy. But I also noticed the previous owner must have had an issue with the switch adjustment because he adjusted with a quarter. I think I'm going add some new tape to that quarter and call it a day. Thanks to both of you for your help! And I'm so glad to have found this site.

For a more permanent fix, I believe you can gently unscrew the hatch switch locking ring and turn it up so you don't have to substitute with currency. :)

Had the same issue, its easy to adjust the collar on the unit to raise the switch. Its a few quick turns and it helps dramatically.
