1st time Jet Boater. 2019 SX190 Cavitation?

From a no wake speed to WOT it’s quite noticeable. I’ll back off WOT and easy in and it catches up.

Taking turns at 30 ish mph seems to knock quite a bit off as well. But mostly the “holeshot” is where it is noticed.

I’ve read on here about how it’s normal for water on top, but the pictured gasket looks pretty rough. I wonder if it is serviceable?

Thank you for your reply!
I own a 2022 AR195 and experience the exact same issue.. WOT you get a slippage and engine catching here and there, but back off throttle and she settles in and goes no problem.. the only real issue i have with this is pullling a slalom skier out of the water.. Still should not happen.. B4 owning the AR I had 2 FX Yamaha skiis with the very same engine.. never ever had this cavitation issue on either one.. So my belief it has to due with the powerful suction force created on WOT pulling air past the clean out tube.. However no one seams to have an answer.. I’ve used the bees wax, added an O ring seal to the cavity.. neither has worked.. there have been people who say to look at the intake underneath for loose or missing caulk.. I will next, but seriously a “22 with 60hs.. shouldn’t be an issue.. Also I’ve considered a new “after market” SS impeller.. Just reminds me of a mechanic who just keeps changes parts in an attempt to fix an issue.. Love to hear from anyone with a real solution

That’s the plan! Ordered a Yamaha rebuild for the clean out and waiting to hear back on the O-Ring purchase. I will definitely report back. Thank you again!
So how did you make out??
