New JetBoatPilot Console Organizer For 24 Footers Need Feedback!

Booo.. :(

I think the 19' & 21' port side console are a better target for a custom product.
With the vertically opening glove box, it prevents functional use of the surface.

I'm thinking of a glove box lid replacment that has a flat upper surface and a largeish front mount door for radio/storage access.

Of course the top surface could have cup holders similar the FSH organizer.

Im up for a trash can solution, it drive me crazy having to lift the seats every time I want to throw away trash.

How about something that went through the back wall of the glove box already in use on the 240/242? Something like a skimmer box from a pool.

You would open the glove box door then just push the (skimmer) door open to use it as a chute to a trash can located below? Just throwing out ideas. Would need to put a spring on the door so that it didn't keep slamming as we hit waves.

That would give us a trash receptacle with a rather large opening and also not intrude on the OEM glove box that I believe most of us are using.
Thoughts?

Most of the cupholders have direct access below them under a cushion. How about a cupholder replacment that is actually a trash can access?
Hmm I may order a plastic cupholder from my dealer, cut out the bottom and rubber-band a trash bag to the underside and see how it works.
Most of our on-board trash is wrappers, cans, other small items that could definately get shoved through that opening and into a bag.

Is this what you're referring to @Bennie
Will - am I missing a pic in that reply? I was not referring to the cup holder.

I like that idea too but my idea was in regards to the back of the glove box compartment.

Updated post, forgot link.

@JetBoatPilot - Will there are some good ideas/products there.

This one would work with a different door on the starboard storage. http://www.nauticexpo.com/prod/ssi-sailing-specialties/product-27915-317581.html
Due to the molding on the inside of the door you would need to fabricate another door that would allow the swinging trash can to be placed into the door. Perhaps if the trash was positioned in such a way (forward or low as possible) you could make a place for a paper towel holder. Now THAT would be useful!!

From what I have read on here very little of us this space for an actual head. Mostly it's just for storage. And if you sold a complete door that would be a very easily installed mod. Just a few screws and you have a trashcan and paper towel holder.

My original idea was to place an access on the far wall of the glove box. Using something like this http://www.nauticexpo.com/prod/ssi-sailing-specialties/product-27915-317913.html that would allow items to drop into a trash can that would be installed inside the head storage.

But I believe the door idea would take off much quicker and be a very easy sell as it would be a mod that anyone could do -- just need a screw driver.

Your thoughts?

How about an oem look alike cup holder, with a spring loaded bottom? Make it so the spring would support a full can, so you couldn't mistakenly throw away a fresh beer. A slight push and it would pop open allowing the trash to fall into a bag below.

... or a release button that lets the bottom drop out, mounted next to it?

I know I've seen someone on here that turned their cup holder into a trash opening...I can't find it though.

@JetBoatPilot ... it appears it would impede with the view forward from the passenger seat. ....

After setting in the passenger seat and I'm 5ft 10 it is no were close to my view forward. Not sure how short you would have to be for it to be in your line of sight. I'm guessing if you look through the bottom inch or two of windshield maybe it would. I really like it so far. (It's my boat in the video )
