OK, long time Wings fan here. Always respected Crosby, because he is skilled, works hard, and delivers when it counts. Never liked him. Why? Partly because of his whiny ways when he came into the league... partly, I really don't know.

However, I have to say, Gary Bettman is destroying the league. I am sick and tired of watching the game's best players driven out of the league by injuries delivered with intent & knowing that, in Bettman's NHL, there will be little, if any, payback.

Tonight it was Crosby with yet another hit to the head. A few years back, it was Zetterberg getting turnbuckled into the edge of the boards so hard it broke his helmet. It is time for Bettman to go. He is killing this league.

Almost seems like since they outlawed fighting that the aggressive hits took over. I would rather have some bloody fist fights to burn off the testosterone that premeditated head shots.

I don't think Niskanen meant it. What is strange is they fought in 2010, I wonder if Niskanen has a dislike of crosby and actually meant it.

The NHL is a complete joke, they refuse to do anything to protect their money makers. There WAS a rule that contact to the head was a penalty, but yet it's acceptable. The 2 idiot commentators on NBC who never had hockey skills preach that if a player has an injury you should take advantage of it in the playoffs. Milbury said last night that Karlsson has an injured foot and that the Rangers should take whacks on his foot to put him out of the game. There are a lot of young stars in the league now that the NHL should use to grow their fanbase, yet I turn on the TV and see that crap I saw last night. The NHL is the only professional league that has different rules for the regular season and the playoffs. I would much rather watch hockey in the Olympics or in the World Cup of Hockey.

The slash to Crosby's head by Ovechkin is what caused Crosby to lose his balance which led to the cross check. Ovechin is a POS.

As a caps fan you hit this on the head....Nisk wasn't even intending to do that....Ovid should have had the game is conduct if anyone with that....
Then the pens player takes out another....if Crosby is out for a while the tide could turn....

Caps aren't playing well IMO...

Oshie Backstrom and Ovie need to step it up.

I definitely put more blame on Ovi than anyone else. It's a huge blow for us for sure. Letangs absence really, really hurts already. Our breakaways and zone entries are terrible, but our offense is making it work. Add Sid on top of that, and boy, it don't look good. Sheary too? I'm definitely worried now. Geno can go into beast mode, but plays with too much emotion to carry us all the way. I predict a rough retaliation game next, that we probably won't win, and a 7 game series that could go either way really if the caps don't step it up.
