You could possibly achieve it with a small firearm cable lock, but to be honest there are 4 places the cover can be loosened, and 2 of them are plastic buckled (this is for a 210 FSH). I’m of the opinion why lock a fabric cover, if someone wants in any sharp-ish object will cut through the cover.

This is an interesting question. Just off the top of my head, I would try opening a cleat cover, run a chain or cable through the cleat and around the cover at that spot and lock it. You could possibly still zip it back enough to hide the chain and lock just to not bring attention to it. I would think all you need is one lock at one cleat. To make it harder on the crooks, I guess you could do the same at other cleats.

No you can’t lock anything that you can open with a razor knife and why would you lock it It will cost you $800 after they slice it open. In New York City anyone with a Tourneau cover on there trunk just gets it sliced lengthwise with a razor knife as Assholes walk by and look inside and see if there something worth stealing. So even if they steal $100 drill out of the back it still cost $400 for the cover.

That’s an interesting interpreatation, and probably a more accurate one than mine, as to why he wants to lock his cover. I thought he wanted to make sure nobody takes his cover. I think your perspective makes more sense though.

My gut is this would be to prevent his cover from easily being stolen. I doubt there are many thieves that go around cutting boat covers looking for something of value in the boat.

Chart plotter $1,000
VHF $150
Epirb $500
Inflatable life jackets $100 each
Flare kit $25
Fishing rod and reel $25 to $1,500 each
Anchor $300
Cooler $100

You never know you just have to have faith in people sometimes.
They steal your chart plotter and trade it for $20 worth of drugs.
Cover is to big and bulky for most to steal.
