The 1999 S went through a renovation program to get new suspension better brakes and 18" wheels after Irma and the 83 XR is still undergoing a transition back to its flatrack form from street trim... again driven by Irma... same suspension and brakes as the 99S however 19" NOS wheels... Lots of custom fabrication... and building Boat Parts and Jet pumps gets in the way... Not enough hours in a day...

87 was like a light switch.... nearly spit me off a few times the fist time I rode it at NODUOL (LOUDON backwards)
89 was 1000% better and had power everywhere and never gave up on top a little porky in the handling dept but never did anything wrong I raced mine till 92.... gone are the days of checks and 1099's from Yamaha USA for contingency money when the FZR's first came out... buddy of mine with a race shop in Canada has a built 1990 FZR1000 engine in a OW01 (750) chassis Vance and Hines Superbike replica... thats what he does is build engines, street and track racebikes replicas and he has a HAAS 5 axis mill big enough to walk around inside to make all the giblets needed along with a chassis dyno..

Any pictures of that beautiful beast?
yeah it appears that I got the parts messed up but there were always so many builds going on it was hard to remember... my bike is the yellow RZV500R and its an 84 LOL... there were so many trick parts we had cut down flywheels and alternate gear ratio transmissions with upgraded main shafts, custom CNC billet every thing magnesium and titanium bits... the frame was hand built in japan out of aluminum and I hand built and aluminum swingarm from three different swingarms to get the right geometry... components were so tightly packed getting a finger down inside was a chore... the swing arm was machined to clear the YPVS controller no wasted space under the faring... 320 lbs wet... body work came off for service in a couple minutes....

Another Yamaha for the stable, 2025 Raptor 110. Grandkids were having to take turns on the 21 Raptor 90. And they ride the side by side gocart but prefer the 4wheelers. Now the older one will get this one. Took some legwork to find this color, had to drive 115 miles out to get it. Plenty of the Yamaha blue but the teal are selling like hotcakes.
The new one is efi and 112cc which is a big updrade to the 90
Other than that its identical to the 2021 raptor.

Rolled off the show room floor brand new from "House of Wheels Yamaha", downtown Houston, TX. ... 1988 FZR1000 (now known as the R1) California model.

Nice bikes. My 1st was a 1977 YZ80. I've had a string of them since...2008 YZF250, '13 FZ09, '16 R1 (track), '21 MT07, '24 MT09, and now a '24 R1 in the garage, along with a '22 Z900RS and a '21 KLX 300. Had a bunch of off road & dual sport KTMs, between '14 and '23. I also have a '22 Rmax4 1000 (SxS), preceded by a '21 YXZ1000SS SE (stolen), and a couple of Yamaha generators. We also have a Yamaha keyboard, and Yamaha AV receiver. Have a '19 Grizzly 700 EPS, for a short time. That was probably the the most dangerous thing I've ever ridden.

Do none of you ride a safe old-man bike like me?

Not my only Yamaha throughout the years but one of the coolest and most unique. Took a hammered old WR200 and put the motor in a YZ125 frame. Coolest trail bike I ever rode!
