Plugs <what to lube them with?>

lube them with bees wax and on the push button plugs add my EZ locks to prevent blowouts from happening or worse the plug just coming loose but not blowing out completely and flooding the engine compartment
Cobra EZ-Locks
Watch these videos to get a good understanding of how the COBRA EZ-Lock works and how the locking mechanism functions in your cleanout plug.

I use this on my clean out plugs and on my drain plug O-ring every outing. I keep a tube and a rag in my clean out tray area and lube everything up before I put the plugs in at the landing. I've been very happy with the results.

This is what I use as well. It rocks. Also keep it in my clean out tray so it is always there.

Bees wax might be good, but are they as good as a Lube Tube? Or as affordable?

Bees wax is great and water will not wash it off you can get it at home depot they use it for toilet bowl base gaskets because water does not have any effect on it hmmm good reason to use it as a base gasket for toilets I would think, and the Vikings used it on their ships when they traveled all over the earth to protect the wooden hulls They even had trade routs to obtain it from the native Americans. I guess since they did not have flushable toilets they only used it on their boats,
I even used it on outboard water pump impellers to keep them from wearing down at slow speed when they rub on the inside of in the pump housings what it also works on is cables and fittings but heck it's your boat .

+1 on the wax....I use it on the cleanout plugs. in addition to lubricating, it also seals them tight, so you don't get any water pushing up from below past the seals. no more water on top of your plugs at the end of the day unless it's coming from above or pushing up the clean out tray drain(s)

I use the toilet bowl ring on my pumps and everything else down there per your recommendation. Will try the wax on my plugs next season
