My current speakers on the swim deck still work but the prongs that the wires connect to rusted off so I had to bypass them. I was thinking of switching to Polk audio due to the great reviews. Just wondering if they will hold up back there with salt water. No issues inside the boat.

I've ran Polk in many marine environments. Salt is a different monster altogether and I think you'd just have to be ready to replace them every few years due to elements.

The polk mm speaker grills on my swim deck have discolored. I have all polk mm speakers and the factory polk stereo with swim deck remote that rusts. Based on my experience I would not trust Polk marine ratings. When I have to replace them I will be going with JL Audio as they will stand up to salt water and UV not to mention sounding great.

The Polk marine line up is just re marketed car audio stuff where as the JL Marine line up is designed for the marine environment from scratch and goes through robust salt fog, water, temperature, and UV testing.
