Hi All! We are proud new owners of a 2019 Vortex 203VRX! This is our first jet boat and we don't know too much about the accessories or add on market.
So, what is the first thing you did to yours when you got it? What mods or accessories are a must have in your opinion?

Thanks!

Jeez this is the second time I’ve had to say it....

First thing I did was take pics and post them on this forum for my internet friends to see!!!

Great looking boat... I almost bought a VRX223 before settling on my Yammie 212X

Nice boat, congrats!
I put steering fins on mine and upgraded the stereo, added an amp.

I go long distances, I put a GPS chart plotter so I know where I’m going and don’t run aground.

First installed Trim Tabs. Second was Corbra Steering.

I did trulocks but you won't need those.
Then fins but you may be fine without!

Kind of depends what you are planing to do with the boat. Surfing ???? Going to Bimini ????

Upgraded entire sound system, sound proofing engine Bay Area, fuel hatch cover & under swim deck, installing USB ports, lateral thrusters, switching position of radio & no wake/12v switch plate & adding wakeboard racks. Working on getting it all done by the spring

I haven’t done any upgrades or mods. I have a 2015 SX192 Supercharged Yamaha Jet that I bought in Mid June this year. What should I do first?

Gas??? I though these take diesel.
We have a big gas welder/generator that one of my crews thought was a diesel a few weeks ago. It's not that funny when fixing it.
I made myself too busy with other things and the owner worked on it. That part was a bit funny.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new jet boat. Great forum to be on! You're gonna love your new boat. They're a lot of fun!!!

I agree with what other members have stated. Check out my sig for mods to the Chap. The most important mod is to install an on-board battery. These computer driven boats need/require that battery to be in tip-top condition. Otherwise, things start going haywire (ask me how I know). In conjunction with that install a second battery with a good switch. Chances are you'll upgrade your stereo (as most do) and just incase you run one down you still have a backup. I replaced both mine with AGM deep cycle batteries (don't really need a starter battery - these engines turn over pretty easy).

Which engine do you have (150, 200, 250 or 300hp)?

Letting us know how you intend to use the boat will help us help you with mod selection.

Most of all, enjoy your boat and have fun doing it. Love the color :winkingthumbsup"
