Pulling Sportjet 175

In photo labeled Sportjet you can see the prybar in the gap, which is all around the engine except near the arrow under the spark plug.
The last pic is just trying to lift the rear of the engine a little to free it up, The front moves up and down easily , just the back right corner is not budging...

Try to set it up like this.
pull the chain a little, winch a little.
repeat as needed:

You could run a rope thru an overhead eye some how and just pull to lift if you have 2 people.
I was by myself so I needed the winch just to make it easier on me.
Bottom line here is you don't want to be holding on to something you cant let go of if things start to go south.
You just want to gently wiggle it off the splines.

success finally - had to get a wedge under the rigth rear stud then a few taps later - bam so let go, no damage that I can see..

Is it normal to have lube sitting on top of the drive shaft bearing

I think so. Both times I pulled mine, (both the old and the new blocks) there was quite a bit of oil sitting there,
