Anybody running either of the R&D Filter kits on the 1.8's? I have to replace the stock air filters anyway, and for app $20 more per engine, these are available. Apparently they are similar to the K&N filter in the aspect they are washable and re-oil able. Any feedback or opinions is welcome. I'm not expecting any major performance gains, but would be interested in better fuel economy/smoother operation or any drawbacks from using the products.

Good questions. I havent seen anyone using them. Better intake flow can have noticeably positive results on a car, although sometimes will cause more intake noise. Would think the same would be true here. Not sure how restrictive our airboxes really are.

I've been using the stock drop-in replacement after replacing the flame arrestor with this https://jetboaters.net/threads/riva-throttle-body-spacer.2632/. Also, I found dealer overfilled the oil and it got to the stock filter.

I noticed no difference with that air filter, but it is nice that it's cleanable.
