Got caught in a bad rain and it really sucked. It would be really nice to have some type of roof for days when the weather gets bad. It is probably just a matter of time before Yamaha adds this capability to the expensive boats so with a push of a button the roof will drop down. I need to figure out a way to get this on my SX190.

Do the new 242s have Biminis that drop down like that and can be run in that configuration?

@SCSX190 have you thought about modifying your stock Bimini top so that isenglass (sp?)/ clear plastic panels can be attached to it via zippers?

I don't think the top drops down on the 24s, I photo shopped the image to show the desired configuration.

The Bimini frame on the 24 looks like a pretty good match for the windshield.

The Bimini and tower do lower but it's only meant for storage purposes; not trailering, and definitely not for on the water enoyment ;)

It looks like Yamaha is real close to having the drop top configuration while driving. They should add the tower capability to all boats and modify the tower so it can lower and lock in place while driving. Yamaha could then easily add this as an optional feature to all boats via dealers.
