The replacement will do the same thing. You can battle the rust with FSR or remove the eye, clean rust off and spray paint the threads. Usually the threads are the culprit.
Lots of boat manufacturers have this issue. My old Regal had one transom lift that used to bleed just a little. Like everything else now days the quality is just not so consistent.
I took the plate off got a thicker one looked like pretty good quality had to make the holes bigger that took awhile being stainless .caulked the crap out of the holes hopefully it won't take water in.
