Screws into floor near batteries?

Not to the carpet. Secure it to the Directly fiberglass or any other hard surface.

Quick newbie question: when you’re using 4200/5200, are you gluing to the carpet or lifting the carpet?

What are you attempting to adhere? Bonding to a carpet is not safe. Usually used to stick things to fiberglass/gel coat/wood. 5200 is pretty much permanent and has it’s place on a boat. More common are 4200 or 4000UV again depending on use. They are for things you may have to replace one day and one is UV stabilized, won’t yellow in direct sunlight.
Again, depends if above or below waterline. I used 4000UV yesterday to seal screw in snap bases to the swim platform.

Very helpful, thanks. There was good advice in this thread to use a board for amp mounting but it wasn’t clear to this newbie to what surface the board should be mounted using 42/5200. Think I’ve got it now, thanks.

Your battery boxes are likely screwed to the floor. Check the length of the screws and those would be safe.
