Snorkeling with the Family

I am looking for recommendations for snorkeling with the family. How far do I have to drive from the Raleigh NC area to get to clear enough water for snorkeling? Do I have to go all the way to Florida?

That's a good question. Sure wish I could answer it. Seems like you're on the right path though. I think the water around Jacksonville is still murky, at least at times. Might have to go further than that. Or hit the Gulf over this way in the Panhandle.
