I have had my supercharged Yamaha at over 650 but I always sell them with 1 year left on the 5 year warranty so people don't mind the hours actually letting them sit is probably worse on them than using them every week or so although I get in 150 days a year or there about. had 151 last year. Have 550+ on two right now although in actuality one had the dreaded timing chain issue and that engine now only has 200 actual hours but the ski has 550

I think the highest I saw on the boats were in the 700-800 range and said they were still running good. I know @Cobra Jet Steering LLC has had some really high hours on skis if I remember correctly as well.
MR-1s have been reported to run for 2,000 to 4,000 hours before needing major work. Not sure that the 1.8s will have that kind of longetivity.

I have seen rental skis with the MR-1 engines here with over 1000 hours so I know that is possible for sure.

350ish on my 2010 242ls which I bought with 100 hours at the end of 2012.

Most rentals that Ive seen for sale recently have about 700 to 800 hours on them, so I would pass on buying a Yamaha jet powered craft with this many hours unless there is some written proof that it has been well maintained/maintained as recommended by Yamaha. The rationale being that at this many hours they are in need of some major maintenance.

Bump a thread back to life.
I'm considering purchasing a 2007 sr210 with 505 hours on each motor. Slightly nervous if I will be inheriting problems or have issues reselling down the road. Seller wants $7000 - however boat is not turn key, needs hours of labor removing barnacles.
500hrs is above average, is the price fair?

Thank you

My vote is forgetaboutit 500 hours is not the reason I have 760+ it is all the corrosion and lack of maintenance you are opening Pandoras box in my opinion

Depends on how much spare time you have to spruce it up. It is deffinelty going to take some work. If there is that much build up on the out side I would bet the water jackets in the block are pretty well clogged up as well. I would personally pass.

Bumping this thread again. Anyone over 600 hours? For me, this is season 6 for my boat and I'm at 187 hours. I went into the menu and noticed im also at 2100 miles for an average of 11.22 miles per engine hour. How many miles are you guys at?

When she first starts up at the beginning of the day, sounds like a coffee can with rocks inside but settles down quickly. But I thinks thats ok....?

I had a jet ski from 2005 to about 2015 and put 400 hours on the engine. I've now had the sx210 for 11 years and have about 300 hours on the engines. I find that with the ski I would hit the water and ride until we were done with very little time just sitting on the ski without the engine running. The boat is much more social. We stop and drift so the kids can swim. We park stern to the shore so the kids can play around on the beach. We stop to eat lunch. So we spend many more hours on the boat than the ski so we put less hours on it.

Holy hell! I apparently need more hours! We do a lot of floating and use our fishing boat quit a bit. I just passed the 100 hour service mark last week on my 2016 242 LSE 😳
