I have a 97 wave blaster ll and the hull of a 1967 regatta speed boat . My idea is to join the two by making the ski attachable and detachable in water . My question is more a search for knowledge on things that I am currently unaware of being a novice boater . I.E. ski placement in relation to the boat for best performance connection options that will with stand the physics that may be applied during use. Etc.... I'M currently transitioning from idea phase to making it a reality and would greatly appreciate any advise,knowledge,&considerations,that members are willing to give. How large and heavy are the Regatta?

A number of jet ski powered hulls have been created a few are still commercially available. This idea has never taken off but I can see how it would be a fun project.

The skis normally dock into a cutout area of the stern that accommodates a substantial portion of the ski.

That's going to be a huge undertaking, you might be better off using the WB II Engine and Jet Pump and installing in the regatta making a jet boat, but I think the 760CC Motor will be way-under-powered to move the boat depending on it's weight.

The regatta is 16ft long and slightly under 6ft wide as to weight I would estimate it not to be more then 700 lbs as it is completely empty I also plan to lighten by cutting the top of the bow out and crafting seats. I have never seen a ski powered hull except in the movie the expendables which was really a dingy I think anyway I would love to see others creations especially anything that is in commercial production

Not necessarily looking for easy as to post I'm not really looking for speed while I do want want to swerve around with a few ppl seated in the bow area the prize will be when we are taking turns with the jet boots without going to shore

@DaPapa Shuttle Craft has been building these for as long as I can remember, this is what you will want to fashion yours around. You will need to cut out a center section of your boat hull, make a reinforced area for the Waveblaster II to dock into, and build fiberglass walls up in the u-shape to keep the boat afloat. Like I said it will be a huge project. Might be easier to tow the boat behind your jet ski Lol.

The one in the movie is by winjet or windjet , they went out of business a few years ago. I know someone with one of there last models that held two three seaters. The hull itself held 5 or 6 people. It was integrated with helm controls. Good luck with your project.

@DaPapa , are links to a string on the wind jet hull as well as a video of ow other wind jet and a video for another jet ski boat hull combo. My buddy owns the one in the string, for context with 510 hp he claims it gets up to 70 mph. I own a '96 waveblaster II (it's my son's actually), even with an aftermarket impeller and being recently rebuilt, at about 400 lbs and 90 hp it has a top speed of about 40 mph with me on it and I weigh less than 200 lbs. Not trying to rain on your parade but I think what you are describing will be under powered. That's stated, it's cool that you are even considering it and I hope that you complete it and prove me wrong. Please keep us updated on your progress and include some pics of the same.
