Hey fellow jet boaters!

I need some help planning my St. Petersburg vacation this summer. I am traveling from Atlanta to St. Petersburg in June. I will be there for 1 week. I have seen some properties with docks, which would be great! If I cannot get one with a dock, I was thinking about renting a place without a dock and maybe finding a marina. The other option would be to just find a boat ramp and drop the boat daily.

I would prefer to just drop it once and keep it at a marina. Any recommendations?
If I can find a place with a dock, do you guys have any recommendations on where to store the trailer while I am in town?

Thanks in advance for your recommendations and advice!

Good luck at a marina. Have an idea of where you are looking to stay? Like what part of St. Pete, or are you looking at Pinellas county in general?

What are you looking to do? Being on the bay side makes hitting all the popular places a long ride. Being on the ICW is much better IMO.

I agree the Gulf side is better than the Bay. When boating in the Bay make sure your depth finder is working. Would be better to have a GPS with maps installed showing depths.

You'll have to hunt for a place to rent on the water. Check out Air b&bs or VRBO.

Check out St. Pete Marina. They have a transient slip (#3 in pic below) you might be able to use. I've stayed there years ago (different boat). You can get gas there too.

There are tons of boat ramps around the area. Many are free and don't require a permit. Check out this website for more info.

Let me know if you need anything further. Good luck!!!

Try dockwa and see what's in the area for transient slips. You might be able to find something in June.

Your best bet will be to find a place with a dock and wet slip for a week. Boat ramps are OK, but parking overnight truck/boat will be a challenge.

Looks we will be staying at Tierra Verde. Found a place with dock with a good price!

you can launch at maximo or ft desoto. Bunces pass is the big party sandbar by there. Eggmont key offers good snorkeling. You can swing across to downtown st Pete and dock at Doc Fords to check out the new pier. It’s about a 30 minute ride from there to downtown Tampa. Not a whole lot to do there but river through downtown at night is really cool. You could also head north from Tierra Verde to johns pass sand bar, or really make a trip up to HoneyMoon island.

Love it there! The place is all new. Totally redone. Big pool and great food. Oysters are really good! That one of the reasons we go there.

You should check out Tiki Docks at Maximo Marina. Excellent food $$$. Place is huge!
