Hello all!

I have a 2015 Yamaha 212x that I was getting ready to sell. My left engine starts and runs great. When I key on the right-hand engine, I'm only getting a loud Clicking sound. Traced that to the solenoid. Found the solenoid local and went ahead and replaced it. Clicking still happens. Both batteries are new as well and charged to 100%.
Next, I wanted to make sure nothing was locked up; I pulled the plugs and was able to turn the engine over a few times. After turning the engine over I put the plugs back in and attempted to start it again, this time I heard some grinding the and then back to clicking. Turned my attention to the starter looking for any loose cables or corrosion on power and ground. Both clean, but i was able to ever so slightly move the power cable and sure enough the grinding was back briefly then clicking again. Kept feeling around and noticed i could move a bolt of some sort which turned out to be the upper starter bolt. I could literally slide the bolt back. So, I got what treads i could to screw in by hand due to its not being very exposed. Ran out of day light so I came to a stop. I also noticed when my wife keyed the engine on the start flexed a bit. My question is do it sound like due to the loose bolt, is the starter just not able to fully engage and should I be able to have room to retorque this bolt. Or should I go ahead and remove the intake manifold and expose this completely. Anyone else see this happen?

I dont know how much room you have to work with but the starter needs to be tight and not move at all. Hopefully it didn't damage the starter clutch.
One of the starter mounting bolts has the ground attached so that one is very important to be tight. Both bolts have to be tight and the starter needs to be stationary with the block
