My Stoltz Roller came in today and just went out and installed it. Went with the 3.5 and seems to be perfect for the trailer.

Your hull thanks you. Should be the first upgrade to any Yamaha.

So true.. I should have done this long ago. I was keeping a cloth between the hull and the roller so it wouldn’t scratch the black hull

This is always an interesting discussion the dealer said the 3 1/2 inch one that I purchased would not fit so they ended up installing a 4 inch one on my AR 195 and it fits perfectly.

Might just be something to do with each different trailer. The 3.5 seems to fit mine perfectly. I know a lot of others have gone with the 4 and it works good too.

I was just looking at my Stoltz this weekend. I have the 4" ultimate one with the center cut down to fit between the mounts. I noticed that it was only touching in the middle which doesn't seem right. It looks like the 3.5" shown at the top of this thread fits well with all 3 roller components in contact with the hull. I might just buy the 3.5" center section by itself. It looks like it may fix the issues I"m seeing.

The center is all that matter as far as supporting the bow. The bells on the side are more for catching and aligning the bow on the roller.

How bad are they?

Pics?

I finally pulled the trigger and bought one. Rookie question here: can you install this with the boat still on the trailer or that not possible/recommended?

Yes you can install on the trailer with the boat on it as that is what I did but it's easier if you do it the next time you take it the to lake.

I did the swap with my AR195 on the trailer. Honesty I felt it was less work than putting it in the water but can be done either way.
