Struck Submerged log

We hit something a few years back, broke the grate pretty much like you did. Unfortunately our accident was 4th of July. Fractured the fiberglass, I siliconed it up and used it the rest of the summer. Took it to the shop right after we pulled it out of the water for the winter(9/15). Got it back around New Years. Our fractured fiberglass stress crazed, they had to keep working and follow the stress crazing till they got to solid glass. Ended up with a new patch that’s maybe 12” x 3’ and a $1500.00 Bill. Make sure you go to a reliable and recommended fiberglass repair shop, I am sure that you would rather have it fixed right than save a few bucks. As I often say, money can’t buy happiness, but fun is expensive!!!?
