Help, stuck on the water, no water peeing and strainer grate seems to be clear.

Where are you located ?

Lake Lewisville.

Buddy is towing me now, I unhooked this line which I assumed was the water intake, no water is coming out though. So I’m guessing the clog is prior to that. FBE4C0BD-85E7-44BB-AF05-1E2027A996EA.jpeg

I just saw this looks like your good should you ever need assistance again, I sent u my cell. I’m in Carrollton

Did you check your pumps for plastic bag or other item clogging the pump intake , did you remove the clean out plug and inspect there also and do not go over an idle when towing and also have your reverse gate in the up position to avoid water being forced into your engine

Check the strainer on the side of the jet pump. You may need to remove the cover in case something made it past the white plastic piece The cooling system is fed from the strainer in the jet pump housing. This is how the system is for the Yamaha MR1 engine but the same general concept applies for the 1.8 engines...

Also look in the starboard rear storage compartment and follow the cooling pisser lines back to the engine and make sure there are no kinks.

Look inside the jet pump and this is the white plastic piece of the strainer. There are 4 bolts on the outside of the jet pump housing for the rectangular cover.

So boats back home, I didn’t have the correct hose crimped and the gate was down. Towed pretty far at about 5mph.

How do I verify water didn’t get in the motor before I start it?

check the oil for water. If the oil is thin and way up on the stick you've got water. You can run the engine for 15 seconds, then check the oil. If miley you have water.

5 mph should be ok but do check your oil level as suggested, so is there stuff in your pump intake grate clogging your pump??? Not being there I have no idea what happened but to get no water to the engine I would suspect the pump is clogged really bad one thing people do wrong is back The boat up in shallow water, or powering off the trailer in shallow water, this throws up the bottom and puts whatever is there right up into the intake grate or parking the boat in shallow water where the intake contacts the ground again placing trash into the intake grate

I will check the oil.

If I hook it to a hose and water flows does that mean the obstruction is clear? The screens all look clear.

Run weed eatter string down the pee holes... I keep some in my boat for just this purpose... did u get an over temp light?

running on the hose supplies water from a different location than how it gets to the engine in the water so NO it will not necessarily show you anything is fixed try to go under the boat to look in the intake and see.
One thing you should see if running on the hose is water exiting the pump nozzle because it can travel through the area in the pump that would normally be supplying the cooling water to the engine.

I think it’s good now

Water out the pee hole and the pump. 7AAAFC91-2105-4BBD-95EB-6D5A8A6540E1.png

ok probably cleared the obstruction if water is exiting the pump but be sure there is no plastic bag etc in your intake great

Talking about this? It’s clear both in and out. 33162589-7D33-4E32-A0BA-3D9AC778E979.jpeg
